An exciting day for two boys, their first day at ‘big’ school. Good luck to Tariq (our grandson) and to Callum (Bev and Gary’s grandson). Knock ‘em dead boys!
It’s quite frightening how the years are zipping by. We now have three grandchildren at Secondary school.
Mal and I went into Girne (bypass as still roadworks on the other road.) Mal collected his glasses and was very pleased, even had a posh Burberry glasses case to go with his Burberry glasses. I was not so peased as try as I might my new ‘reading’ glasses made me screw my eyes up when I use the computer. I took my new and old prescription back, my new and old glasses. Problem solved, Vision Express had written me two prescriptions, one for reading and one for the computer….what a pity they didn’t bother to tell me, just said I needed them for reading. At least Akay Optik explained to me. So, they then offered to put the reading lenses into my old frames at a cost of 32tl which I thought was very reasonable. They said they would ring when my glasses were ready..they rang three hours later. Very impressed with their service and my only dissapointment is that I have now joined the two different pairs of glasses brigade!
Thought for the day : A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.
